Good.
I haven't been as successful in my weight loss (never ending story) as I want to be. When you're feeling like a fatty what do you do? 1. Buy shoes because regardless of your weight they always fit. And 2. Buy makeup because regardless of your weight you better paint that face to look as pretty as you can.
Am I right or am I right?
1. Shoes. This is the Abi bootie from Shoemint. I'm obsessed with Shoemint. This is my second pair. I've always gotten great customer service and great shoes. They also have awesome sales! (Abi is on sale for $40!) And it's all quality leather. When it comes to shoes, you'll only find leather in my closet. Quality over quantity in that department. I don't like to use the word fierce, but these really are. They are a great sooty black color that give any outfit edge. Including the sweats I wore around the house with them.
2. Make up haul. Originally, I needed new foundation and concealer anyway. I wanted to try Nars because I've heard great things about them. (Nars is also doing the Thakoon show at NYFW, and I found them on Instagram so now I'm basically a stalker addict.) So I treck to Nordstrom, aka my favorite place on earth. It's part of my inner soul. I live and breath the shiny floors, the stylish workers and the leather. The smell makes me weak in the knees. Anyway- back to reality- I plopped down at the Nars counter and let the lady work her magic. She worked her magic on my whole paycheck. It's my own fault. Like I said, I was weak. As if that wasn't enough, I headed to MAC to learn how to do a neutral smoky eye. Black and gray's don't look good on my skin tone, so the lady helped me pick out some great taupe colors. I LOVE them. Then ya know, I had to stock up on navy shadow and liner and all of a sudden I'm creating the big palette. GEEZ. But at the end of the day I felt smokin, so that's all that matters.
From top left to right:
NARS duo concealer: I love this. I have tried so many concealers and never found the one. Especially for my dark circles. I love the duo because I can blend.
NARSkin luminous moisture cream: I use Mario Badescu products. And I love them. I thought I loved my day cream until I tried this. Turns out, my skin has totally been shorted moisture. You put this one morning and evening. My face feels like baby skin ALL DAY. Smooth and silky. I never really noticed my moisturizer wasn't doing it's job until now. Plus, all the NARSkin line is formulated to brighten and illuminate the skin. Which is perfect for me because I've been freaking out about my disappearing youthful glow for a while now.
NARSkin illuminating brightening serum. This is like glowing butter for your skin. It helps with hyper pigmentation and I've noticed red spots popping up lately. Plus it has light reflecting pigments to give you that glow. Honestly, I totally flinched at the price. But even after only 2 days, I'm loving it already. This serum is great to wear alone or with a tinted moisturizer to brighten from within.
NARS sheer glow foundation: The perfect color. I haven't actually applied this myself yet and in store the lady like coated my face with it. But I really like the color and the coverage. I'm a medium girl myself, because I like dewy skin.
Lorac Hot n Spicy bronzer blush duo: I swear by this blush. It's a super bright coral, more on the orange side. It's my staple. The bronzer I haven't gotten the hang of yet, but I don't even care. The blush lasts ALL DAY. I said ALL DAY. My MAC blush faded after lunch. Try Lorac blush, you'll love it.
MAC pro longwear eyeliners: I got a navy and brown color. These are only available at a pro store I believe. I think she said 12 hour wear time? Anyway, they are super creamy so you can smudge it quickly before it locks in place.
I also got a black liquid liner I forgot to put in the pic.
NARS lipgloss in Piree: a gorgeous neutral coral color. It's a nice bright nude.
MAC build your own shadow palette: I started the 15 palette. I don't even remember what the shades are except Carbon (black) and Mystery (the dark taupe) and Naval (navy) which is a pro color. Insane pigment. I love it.
MAC shadow in Patina. A great shimmer olive/nude color.
MAC mineralize shadow in Gilt by Association. I LOVE this color. It's a swirl of black and bronze like Cleopatra style. It can be brushed on light for everyday or packed on for a night out.
I bought all the NARS at Nordstrom, but you can get everything except the concealer duo at Sephora. All MAC was purchased at the MAC pro store. Which is heaven.
Then, of course, today is Feb 10th. Also known as Prabal for Target D-day. I showed up and was third in line of about 20 girls. This one lady was going on and on about Missoni and Pucci and some Loubs she bought for $5 at a consignment sale. Whatever lady. We're at Target. I only wanted the sweatshirt, but found another really cute top for summer. I really like this tropical floral print. In my head, you can mix it with black heels for a chic look or combat boots for a hipster look. I plan on doing both. I really liked the whole collection, thought most of it wasn't really my style. And a few dresses were super ill-fitting. If you are short and have any curves and bought the shirt dress. TAKE IT BACK. I can guarantee it doesn't look good on you. If you are short, slightly heavy, have hips and bought the pleated skirt, TAKE IT BACK. I can also guarantee it doesn't look good on you. Hey, I can't be there in person to tell you the honest opinion that your friend won't, but at least I can warn you online.
So.. a bajillion dollars later. Here I am. Oh yeah. To tackle the whole weight loss thing I signed up for Camp Gladiator and I'm doing My Fit Foods for a little bit. At least for lunches because that's usually my downfall. I'm in a wedding in September, so it's now or never. I have to get serious. Even though I just want to sit around and eat fried chicken and pizza. Lame.
How was your weekend? Did you snag anything from Prabal?
Recipes coming soon, I swurr. I'm working on a few things, some I hated. I'm also going to start adding calorie counts for you. Woo!

i love make up hauls and they always make my credit cards run and hide on me ahah.
